Frequently asked questions
Have a question about playing with us? Here are the ones we hear most. If your question is not here, please get in touch.
Who is the club for?
We are for people with disability, neurodivergent people, and anyone who needs support to take part in the sport they love. We welcome all ages and all abilities.
Families, carers and support workers are welcome to take part and help out.
Do I need any sport experience?
No. Our sessions are for every level, from first-timers to experienced players. We adapt the game so everyone can join in.
What does it cost?
We keep any fees low and make sure cost is never a barrier. Your first come and try session has no commitment.
We will confirm full fee details as programs are set. If cost is a worry, please talk to us and we will help.
What is a come and try session?
It is a relaxed first session with no commitment. It is a chance to meet us, try the sport, and see if it is a good fit, with no pressure to sign up.
What should I bring and wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, runners, and a drink bottle. Bring any equipment you usually use.
Bring your own ball if you have one. If not, we will have one for you. We provide the rest of the sports gear for each session. If you have any specific needs, let us know when you register.
Can a parent, carer or support worker come along?
Yes. Families, carers and support workers are always welcome. We want every player to feel supported, so bring whoever helps you take part.
My child or family member has high support needs. Can they take part?
Yes. Tell us about any support needs when you register and we will work with you. We keep session sizes small so we can give each person the support they need.
What sports do you run?
We start with AFL, basketball and soccer, across four age groups. Cricket and other sports join in Term 4.
When and where are sessions held?
Programs start in Term 3. Days and venues are being confirmed. Register your interest and we will let you know the details as soon as they are set. Your interest also helps us schedule sessions and confirm venues.
Do you have your own teams?
We start with come and try and skills programs. While we build our own teams, we help players join existing all-abilities teams nearby, so no one waits to get started. As our numbers grow, we will field our own teams.
What area do you cover?
We run programs across the Surf Coast and surrounds, from Barwon Heads to Lorne, and inland to Winchelsea and Armstrong Creek.
How do I register or volunteer?
To play, register your interest through our Register your interest form. To help out, fill in our volunteer form. Both take only a few minutes.
You do not need sport experience to volunteer. All volunteers complete a Working with Children Check, and we guide you through it.
Still have a question?
We are happy to help. Get in touch or register your interest and we will be in contact.
